چکیده
http://www.journal-imab-bg.org / J of IMAB. 2016, vol. 22, issue 3/ ABSTRACT Gnathodynamometric methods prove to be the oldest means available of obtaining an objective quantitative evaluation of masticatory efficiency. On the basis of data collected using these methods static methods were later introduced and in early 20th century functional dynamic methods were first applied. Referring to dental literature records, the authors’ objective was to provide a review of available historical facts about the origin, development and application of gnathodynamometers in the study of masticatory function.

Dynamic Modeling of the Electromyographic and Masticatory Force Relation Through Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System Principal Dynamic Mode Analysis
Introduction: Researchers have employed surface electromyography (EMG) to study the human masticatory system and the relationship between the activity of masticatory muscles and the mechanical features of mastication. This relationship has several applications in food texture analysis, control of prosthetic limbs, rehabilitation, and teleoperated robots. Materials and Methods: In this paper, w...

Distance metric has a key role in many machine learning and computer vision algorithms so that choosing an appropriate distance metric has a direct effect on the performance of such algorithms. Recently, distance metric learning using labeled data or other available supervisory information has become a very active research area in machine learning applications. Studies in this area have shown t...
متن کاملMethods for objectively assessing clinical masticatory performance: protocol for a systematic review
BACKGROUND Chewing and masticatory function constitutes one of the most important oral health factors that affect quality of life, especially in older individuals. Little consensus currently exists regarding ways to objectively assess clinical masticatory performance (in this context, performance refers an individual's objective ability to mix or comminute food bolus). That said, many methods w...
متن کاملThe Effect of Preanalytical, Analytical, and Postanalytical Variables on D-dimer Measurement
D-dimer is a soluble fibrin degradation product deriving from the plasmin-mediated degradation of cross-linked fibrin. D-dimer can hence be considered a biomarker of activation of coagulation and fibrinolysis, and it is routinely used for ruling out venous thromboembolism (VTE). D-dimer is increasingly used to assess the risk of VTE recurrence and to help define the uoptimal duration of anticoa...
متن کاملA Comparison on Function of Kriging and Inverse Distance Weighting Models in PM10 Zoning in Urban Area
Introduction: The present study aimed to compare the performance of two widely-used models for spatial assessment of particulate matter less than 10 microns (PM10) in ambient air of Yazd city. Finally, effective factors on concentrations of pollutants and corresponding standards were investigated. Materials and Methods: A number of 13 sampling stations were employed in different areas of Yazd ...
